Are You Prepared???

Do you ever look around at this wonderful country we live in and think how in the world would we ever run out of food?? We live in a world of abundance!! Our grocers shelves are packed, everything we could possibly want is at our finger tips!!
Did you know that a typical grocery store has about 3 days of food on its shelves? So if a store was not able to receive shipment because of flooding, fires, tornados ect the food would be gone.  What if there was a warning of disaster  approaching?? We all know that those same grocery shelves WILL be depleted in minutes!
How much food do you have in your house to feed yourself and your family?
Maybe you think natural disasters wont happen in your area and there is no need to have a food storage. Maybe your right.
What about personal disasters? For instance you lose your job, I believe we live in a time where no one really has a job that is secure. With the way the economy is today no one knows for sure how long they will be employed. It takes the average person anywhere from 21-29 weeks to find a job according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. How wonderful would it be to not have to worry how your family is going to eat while you are looking for work. Maybe you are one of the lucky ones and this is not situation that you will ever be in. Maybe your right.
It wasnt to long ago that I clearly remember watching the news and listening to all these people that thought that the housing market was going to to continue to go up for years to come and everyone was buying over valued houses. Then the bubble burst and the housing market crashed. They all thought that it wouldnt happen to them.
Food Storage is more than being prepared for the end of the world. Its about being prepared to take care of your family regardless of what life throws your way. Its about having one less thing to worry about in an already stressful situation.
One thing I do know, is that without food storage I am leaving the future of my family in the hands of those around me and that is not a risk I am willing to take.
Life may be great and peaceful now but remember it wasn't raining when Noah built the ark.
